They care for the sick, protect the quality of the drinking water, keep records in the courts, administer benefits for poor people, maintain the libraries, help run the jails, protect our communities' most vulnerable members, maintain the streets, work with parolees, groom and maintain the beaches, and provide many other services to keep counties and cities running.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the RN Director, the Internal Organizing Campaign Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the Local’s internal organizing plan and the supervision of assigned division staff and/or internal organizers, with the goal of providing strategic guidance to the union in its various campaigns, which includes the development of organizing activities. In the capacity of supervising staff, responsible for day-to-day supervision, coordinating with Leadership and Regional / Internal Organizing Directors on staff development of all internal organizers, monitoring, training, and has the authority to recommend and implement discipline. Make recommendations on assignments based on staff development needs. This is not a 9 to 5 job - long and varied hours, with early morning, evening, weekend work and travel, including overnight stays. This is an exempt position.
