Organizer Representative

Based in Seattle, WA

We are looking for an Organizer Representative who will work with Union members to win for working families, whether white, black, or brown. Are you that person?

About us:
The Service Employees International Union Local 925 (SEIU 925), is 17,000 working people united to improve our jobs and our communities. We are education workers and public sector workers across Washington state. We are childcare providers, K-12 classified staff, higher education workers, adjunct professors, public defenders and county employees.

Applicants should have a passion for social justice organizing and the mission of SEIU Local 925. The work will mostly be based in Seattle, but may include other turf. This is a full time, 12-month temporary position working with a diverse membership based out of Seattle, a car is required.

Build a strong union membership in the workplace by engaging workers to take action through organizing to win power. Carry out membership representation, and design and implement organizing programs which meet the goals of Local 925.

The Organizer Representative performs a wide range of duties, including:

  • Recruit and develop worksite leaders.
  • Organize and implement internal campaigns
  • Participate in public policy activity such as legislative and political work.
  • Represent the Union in community and labor coalition activities.
  • Plan and implement training of stewards, leaders and members.
  • Collective bargaining, including negotiations and assist in bargaining for major units.


  • Ability to inspire and motivate workers, Member Organizers and staff.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise high level of judgment.
  • Ability to work well with diverse people.
  • Computer literacy, especially databases and Excel, preferred.

Salary and benefits are set by collective bargaining agreement. Starting pay depends on experience, with a minimum of ~$52,000/year. Benefits include fully employer-paid family health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, a generous leave package, car allowance, and other benefits outlined in the policies of SEIU Local 925 and the staff union contract.
