California School Employees Association

California School Employees Association

Summer Law Clerk

Will primarily be worked as a Remote position

The California School Employees Association is recruiting a Summer Law Clerk to help our six Staff Attorneys handle caseload that includes civil litigation in state courts, proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) and advising our field staff and lobbyists on other matters.

Preference will be given to applicants with any hands-on experience with unions or working for a K-12 school or Community College, or knowledge of education law, employment law, labor law or administrative hearings. We’re looking for someone interested in working in the labor movement after graduation. We’re a stable union with over 250,000 members working in 784 public school districts and colleges in California. Our members provide support services to school children: they’re para-educators, clericals, food service workers, bus drivers, and skilled employees in grounds, maintenance and operations.

This will primarily be a remote position, but preference will be given to those living in California or intending to settle in California. Full-time work is available, but applicants interested only in part-time work (at least 15 hours/week) will also be considered.

The position pays $25/hour.
