The Colorado Education Association is seeking qualified applicants for a Data and Research Program Assistant. The role requires successful experience in research and data collection, manipulation, analytics and reporting. Essential Qualifications:

  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to gather and organize information, develop report formats, etc.
  • Proficiency in various computer technologies in a Windows-based PC environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective records maintenance skills
  • Ability to expand knowledge and skills in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to complete multiple projects with shifting priorities and to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to provide support to exempt staff and/or manager as required by the assignment
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with databases, data manipulation, analytics, and reporting in a union, non-profit, education, or business environment or relevant Bachelor’s Degree
  • The ability to use data to tell a story or inform a strategy
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced abilities in Word, Excel, and Access; proven computer skills with excellent efficiency and accuracy; ability to integrate/exchange data between Microsoft program applications and other database systems
  • Experience cleaning data and developing processes to maintain clean data
  • Experience with academic or strategic research
  • Experience with survey development software such as Qualtrics
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • An understanding about issues related to systemic racism and social justice and a commitment to learn more

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Report writing skills utilizing Salesforce or other report writing software
  • Knowledge of or experience with labor unions

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a support team member for our membership database.
  • Analyze and resolve issues including cleaning data, providing new user access, training, support, acting as primary contact for reporting, uploading and extracting data.
  • Create mechanisms for data entry, bulk uploads, and tracking across multiple platforms including digital platforms, our membership system, the Voter Activation Network, and other organizational platforms.
  • Provide support for the membership Reporting and Analytics (MRA) system, including creating or modification of reports and troubleshooting custom reports as needed.
  • Provide research support for legislative session, bargaining, and other organizing campaigns.
  • Assist with coding and analyzing qualitative survey data.
  • Develop systems for tracking and extracting data across all program areas and platforms to help support the CEA Strategic Plan including membership recruitment and engagement, and leadership development.
  • Train and support locals in data strategy, including how to run reports to support local organizing and capacity building.
  • Analyze, manipulate, and match data across systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop and deliver training to support and enhance utilization of our membership database.
  • Develop and implement reports and dashboards to support state and local program work.
  • Develop methods to standardize data collected by state and local staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a non-exempt, Tier 2 bargaining unit position with a salary range of $42,480 - $68,400 based upon prior experience and qualifications. A fringe benefits package is provided as defined in the collective bargaining agreement, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid sick, personal, and vacation leave.
