The Directors Guild of America (DGA) is the labor union representing over 18,000  directors and members of the directorial team across film, TV and new media. For decades, the DGA has worked to encourage industry employers to adopt hiring practices that better reflect the diversity of the world in which we live in.  

Position Overview:
The DGA’s Diversity Department is seeking an experienced Diversity & Inclusion Program Director to help advance the Guild’s objectives. The director will report to the Senior Executive responsible for Guild’s Diversity Initiatives and will work cross-functionally with organization leaders and team members on the design, execution, and management of D&I programs including craft-specific workshops and mentorship.
This position requires occasional extended hours and weekend work to support DGA events.

Position Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Conceptualize and oversee multiple programs aligned with department priorities and designed to train and expand the emerging talent pool of directors and director team members from all experiences and backgrounds.
  • Proactively monitor trends diversity and inclusion opportunities. Introduce new ideas and approaches.
  • Effectively leverage data to propose solutions, track program key performance indicators and glean insights.
  • Prepare reports on departmental activities as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of DEI experience required with at least 3 years managing DEI/EEO programs.
  • Experience advising executive level professionals on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and leading programs from concept to completion.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas. Cultural adeptness a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in politically sensitive and high-pressure environments while maintaining important and effective relationships.
