ADG Videographer/Editor

Overview
The ADG Videographer/Editor helps display and promote the work of Art Directors Guild, IATSE Local 800 members through the recording and editing of footage for events, educational opportunities, field campaigns, and historical archives. Working under the Director of Communications, they manage a calendar and perform work for three departments: Education, Awards & Events, and Communications. The individual hired for this position will bring the ability to perform the technical work themselves while exhibiting the collaborative spirit to coordinate with and occasionally oversee others involved with their projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates video camera(s), on location or in the studio, in producing professional prerecorded programming.
  • Operates video camera(s) for live events, live streaming, and which may be later edited.
  • Computer edits video segments from digital formats.
  • Coordinates with ADG Archives to archive pertinent materials. Uploads final edited content to ADG Vimeo Showcase or alternate website.
  • Maintains equipment inventory and advises on potential equipment purchases.
  • Able to collaborate with multiple individuals around project goals and to schedule work assignments and workflows.
  • Able to accommodate a variety of due dates and timelines.
  • Attends planning meetings for events or activities as needed when video resources are required or requested.
  • Performs job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Creative thinker with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot necessary audio and video equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.
  • Ability to configure, operate and maintain studio and or field audio, lighting and associated production equipment.
  • Knowledge of digital editing programs and procedures.
  • Knowledge of professional audio editing and post-production procedures, techniques and standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Flexible to work some evenings and weekends as needs require.

Working Conditions

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dust, fumes and/or loud noises.

Salary: $75K annually based on experience.
