Lead Project Organizer

For covering New York state

 

Trabajadoes Agricolas Unidos (TAU) is the campaign to empower farmworkers in New York State to build a statewide union. TAU is a coalition of UFCW and RWDSU local unions committed to assisting New York farmworkers to build a better life and improve working conditions on their farms.

TAU seeks a full-time Lead Project Organizer to work collaboratively with an aggressive, multi-local team of organizers. This is not a supervisory position.

The Lead Project Organizer will be responsible for implementing an existing organizing plan that utilizes best practices in building organizing committees and developing farmworker leaders, to win union organizing victories across New York State.

The duties of the Lead Project Organizer will include working daily with organizers and workers, engaging workers in meetings throughout the State of New York.

Job Requirements:
The Lead Project Organizer must meet the following requirements:

  • Native Spanish speaker
  • Experience union organizing with immigrant workers
  • Experience implementing an established organizing plan
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, community members and workers
  • Have a drivers’ license and own a car that can be used for work
  • Ability for overnight travel

Salary & Benefits:
