Membership Coordinator / Administrative Assistant

Based in Tukwila, WA

 

The Support Staff at the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), IFPTE Local 2001 is currently seeking responsible, dependable, out-going, and well-organized candidates to fill an immediate opening for the position of Membership Coordinator/Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of intermediate-level clerical, administrative support and related work as required at the union’s headquarters in Tukwila, Washington. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), non-exempt (hourly) position with a competitive salary, an outstanding comprehensive benefits package and is represented by The Office & Professional Employees International Union, Local 8.

SPEEA is a professional aerospace union representing more than 17,000 engineers, technical workers, pilots and other industry professionals working for The Boeing Company and Spirit AeroSystems in Washington, Kansas, Oregon, California and Utah.

Working with the Administrative Support Staff Lead, the Support Staff is responsible for all the administrative functions required to ensure efficient operation of SPEEA’s three offices and meet the organization’s needs.

Responsibilities include (not limited to):

  • All aspects of servicing union membership, processing membership applications, maintenance of membership records (both electronic and physical), preparation and distribution of time-sensitive reports, responding to membership inquiries, daily updating of database (UnionWare), handling confidential information with sensitivity
  • Provide back-up general administrative and clerical support of the Support Staff team as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years administrative assistant experience
  • In-depth understanding of office administration and daily operations
  • Working knowledge of office equipment (printers, scanners, etc.)
  • Proficient computer literacy and experience with MS Office Suite (primarily Word, Excel), Google Suite, database management and advanced data-entry skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and listening skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Capacity to work independently as part of a team, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high-level of detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including a consistent professional and articulate manner in the office and over the phone and email
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to type an average minimum of 60 words per minute
  • High school graduate or equivalent

Additional skills:

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable or handling payments and posting to individual accounts

Location and Schedule:

  • Tukwila, WA
  • Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Compensation: This position offers a competitive starting salary range from $52,650 to $62,400 (based upon experience) and comprehensive benefits, including; vacation, sick leave, 401(k) with up to 8% employer match, annual salary increase and bonus, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and health care, dental and vision benefits.
