Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic Instructor

Job Description:
National organization is seeking individual for full-time position of Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic Instructor. Position requires individual to have journey-person status and ability to teach disadvantaged youth ages 16-24. Previous teaching experience a plus. Other essential qualifications are knowledge of troubleshooting to determine equipment repairs, ability to do minor and major repairs on all types of equipment components/systems (electrical, cooling system, engine, hydraulics, undercarriage, etc.); ability to do recordkeeping, ability to interpret information from equipment manuals and order parts; knowledge of construction safety procedures and OSHA standards; ability to design hands-on training projects in a shop, field and classroom; effective verbal and written communication skills; an accredited HSD/GED and computer literacy. CDL not required for hire but must obtain within six months of hire date. Supervisory experience preferred. Qualified applicants are required to pass drug screen and criminal background check including an MVR.
