Join the Faculty of a Dynamic Labor Center

The University of Oregon’s Labor Education and Research Center (LERC) is looking for a Labor Educator to join our faculty.

LERC provides labor education, strategic planning and applied research services to workers and labor organizations across the state of Oregon and throughout the Pacific Northwest, in addition to offering classes and internships for University of Oregon undergraduates. Oregon’s is one of the strongest labor movements in the country, and LERC partners with the AFL-CIO and a wide range of local unions in hosting classes and conferences for workers. We also work directly with unions on preparation for bargaining, strategic planning, and equity and inclusion strategies. In addition, LERC’s research has been instrumental to policy discussions on issues including fair scheduling, the right to paid sick leave, prevailing wage, the care economy, the transition to a clean-energy economy, and the ability of women and workers of color to access well-paying construction jobs.

We are looking for someone to join our faculty with primary responsibilities for Labor Education. This is not a tenure-track position, but is a regular faculty position, covered by our faculty union contract and, as a public employee of the state of Oregon, comes with generous benefits, including sabbatical. The person hired into this position will be a regular LERC faculty member, with the same rights and vote on departmental policies as any other faculty member. The position starts at $90,000-$95,000 depending on experience; minimum education requirement is a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
