Union Membership Analyst

The Organization of Staff Analysts (OSA) is a labor union that represents over five thousand professional employees working for the City of New York. OSA has a long-standing reputation for being at the forefront of progressive movements and advancements in worker rights.
The Union Membership Analyst is responsible for verifying individuals’ union membership eligibility, and for maintaining an accurate union membership database. They will work side by side with the union’s Executive Director, providing comprehensive support on various membership issues.
Responsibilities:
Employee Eligibility Monitoring: Regularly assess employees' eligibility for union membership. Utilize comprehensive knowledge of union criteria and employee status to determine eligibility. Proactively contact potential or existing members via email or phone to ascertain their eligibility in the union. Implement a systematic and persistent follow-up process until all required information is obtained, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of eligibility.
Database Management: Learn and proficiently enter new data into the membership database. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the database by conducting regular audits and updates. Thoroughly review reports and database entries to ensure the availability of current and relevant information. Identify and rectify any discrepancies or inaccuracies in the collected data.
Requirements:
- Proven interest in worker rights and a strong commitment to social and economic justice.
- Proficiency in data entry and database management.
- Experience creating tracking systems and improving on existing methods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, including interacting with union leadership, members, and external parties.
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an individual dedicated to advocating for the rights of union members. Starting salary is $50,000; benefits include comprehensive medical, vision and dental coverage & employer funded retirement plan.
