Full-Time Organizer

Based in Washington, DC

 

Position: Full-Time Organizer
Employment Date: ASAP
Location: Washington D.C.

5 days a week in person and requires travel throughout the metropolitan DC area.

Salary Range: $50,000.00 plus full employee benefit package: medical, dental and retirement program.

The DC Federation of Musicians represents professional musicians playing in orchestras, bands, clubs and theaters. DCFM is seeking an Organizer to help coordinate internal and external organizing in our Local.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Community and/or labor organizing experience.
  • Broad understanding of the critical issues and problems facing entertainment workers and unions nationally.
  • Commitment to social justice and movement building.
  • The ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • The ability to develop and lead organizing campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This is not a 9 to 5 job. The position will require some work on evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be expected to develop organizing strategies as well as plan and help lead organizing campaigns.
