NABTU is accepting resumes for a Jr. Accountant that will assist the Controller with general accounting and financial reporting functions and play a key role in other financial administrative areas including balance sheet account reconciliations, general ledger (GL) activity and related journal entries. This role will assist with day-to-day functions of the accounting team and with month-end and year-end activities and assist the Controller in implementing and maintaining a system of business processes and internal controls that will ensure that the company assets are adequately safeguarded, as well as, provide accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting function to include month-end and year-end close for the GL, account reconciliation review, accruals, journal entries, etc.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Assist with accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external financial statements and/or other reports to be used by management
  • Assist with the external audit ensuring that all requested financial documents and information are available and delivered, as needed
  • Assist with Conferences.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
  • Extensively proficient in QuickBooks and Excel
  • Excellent organization and multitasking abilities and strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with non-profit accounting; labor unions a plus
  • LM-2 preparation a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to pivot across multiple tasks, and a "can do" attitude.

Salary Range: $65, 000 – $75,000
