Position Description:
The Analytics Associate works across UFCW’s internal teams and technology platforms to help create actionable insights from its data. This position requires a strategic thinker who can ask the right questions to understand what needs to be measured and how to measure it. As well as the communication skills to present their findings clearly and concisely to audiences with a varying range of technical and topical expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

  • Synthesizes data from multiple data sources using tools like SQL, Python, Excel into insights for stakeholders.
  • Collaborates across teams to design business intelligence reports in Tableau or BI and memos using Word or PowerPoint.
  • Works with teams to identify what key performance indicators exist or should be created to track programs, data quality, and other topics as needed.
  • Maintains and documents code and analysis in an organized manner that allows it to be easily found and replicated.
  • Assists with ensuring the accuracy of internal data analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science field or related field or equivalent related experience and a minimum of one (1) to three (3) of related years experience required.
  • Experience using SQL to query large datasets, transform data, and aggregate it for analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and Looker.
  • Experience cleaning and ensuring the quality of the data you are working with and the analysis you present.
  • An ability to work independently think strategically, and triage multiple assignments at once.
  • An ability and desire to learn new computer software and analytic methods.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong writing and presentation skills with an ability to explain things to non-data-oriented audiences.
  • Strong listening skills to understand stakeholder needs to ensure analysis answers their questions.
  • Ability to confidently and tactfully present findings that may be counter to stakeholder and leadership’s current beliefs.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills (planning, managing priorities, and follow-through).
  • Experience with the labor movement or politics is also desirable but not required.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate strong attention to details.

Job Demands:

  • Long or irregular hours may be required, including nights and weekends is also necessary.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented and confidential office environment.
  • The ability to constantly juggle many priorities while preparing to meet regulatory and other deadlines.

Working Conditions:
The work is typically performed in a normal office environment where the noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:
This position involves, but is not limited to, written and oral communications skills, use of computer keyboard, close vision, sitting for long periods, stooping, bending and reaching.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $60,963 – $78,942.
