Job Title: Partnerships Coordinator
Location: Independence, MO
Position Type: Full-Time

Salary and Benefits:
The base salary is set at $70,000 and is negotiable based on qualifications, accompanied by excellent pension and healthcare benefits.

MoKan LECET (Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust) is dedicated to creating and caring for strong relationships between union contractors and the Laborer’s Union. Promoting market growth and supporting economic development in the region by representing those relationships to developers and municipalities. As a vital link between labor and management we advocate fair labor practices, workforce training, and business development to benefit our contractors, workforce, and community.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic professional to support the Director in enhancing relationships with contractors and managing operational and research tasks. This role suits a proactive, detail-oriented person passionate about labor relations, business development, and industry outreach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhancing contractor relationships by utilizing job reporting tools and online research.
  • Assist the Director in identifying and engaging with new contractors to grow partnerships.
  • Manage communications, including emails, calls, and follow-ups.
  • Assist in developing outreach materials and presentations.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, contractor needs, and workforce development opportunities.
  • Handle administrative duties, including data management, scheduling, and document preparation.
  • Support marketing and public relations efforts, including social media and newsletters.
  • Research labor laws and prevailing wages.
  • Identify prevailing wage jobs and coordinate with area organizers.
  • Helping contractors understand prevailing wages and clear communication of how to submit their hours to the Department of Labor.
  • Submitting Sunshine requests.
  • Communicating with Local Union Halls about contractors, wages, and recruiting events.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in business development, outreach, relationship management, and administrative support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and/or marketing tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry or labor relations is beneficial but not required.
  • Fluency in the Spanish is desired but not required for this position.
