Data Specialist for Administration

For covering Pennsylvania

 

Role: The Data Specialist is a critical member of our Data & Analytics Team who maintains and improves our membership database and works with the Data team and Office team to set best practices on data-centric union functions. This role would be a good fit for someone who has managed data in union, electoral, or non-profit contexts, or for someone with both organizing and data experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, update, and continually improve membership database and processes
  • Process and track bargaining unit lists from employers
  • Work with office staff to set best practices and establish processes for key union functions in CRMs (UnionWare, Zoho, VAN)
  • Help manage and improve data warehouse using dbt and SQL
  • Leverage Python and use APIs to connect data across CRMs and other tools
  • Create dashboards in Looker Studio to give staff needed information for key campaigns
  • Innovate new ways to increase efficiencies and utilize new technology to support union goals
  • Other duties as needed to support the mission of the union

Qualifications include:

  • 3 years experience within Excel/Google Sheets required
  • 3 years experience with CRMs required
  • 2 years experience with SQL required, experience managing data warehouse using dbt preferred
  • 2 years experience with Python required
  • Interest in developing new technical skills
  • Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of staff and members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively around the results of your work

Other Expectations: Union staff are expected to work long and irregular hours with work on weekends and holidays when necessary. Some travel for union events is required. Work is generally at home, but we are looking for candidates who live in PA so they can help with in-person union events with members at times.

Compensation: $61,500 – $86,000 depending on experience, benefit package includes full employer paid health insurance, defined-benefit pension, paid time off, optional 401(k), etc.
