Fiscal / HR Assistant
Based in Harrisburg, PA
The Fiscal/HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the HR and Fiscal departments, handling tasks like managing employee records, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and answering employee inquiries, while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
Employee Records Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files with discretion.
- Update employee information in HR databases and systems.
- Organize and file HR documents and records.
- Serve as the backup to assist with payroll processing and attendance tracking.
- Participate in gathering data and information for audits and special projects.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, organizing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Support onboarding activities, such as preparing new hire paperwork and conducting orientations.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
Employee Relations and Communication:
- Answer employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Assist with employee relations matters, as it pertains to utilization of benefits.
- Communicate HR updates and information to employees.
Administrative Support:
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and training sessions.
- Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment.
- Answer phones and respond to emails.
Other Duties:
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by Management.
- Stay up-to-date on HR regulations and best practices.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in all interactions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or relevant certifications preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR software.
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in a fast-paced office environment.
