Field Data and Operations Analyst
Based in the Northeast Region
(New York, New England, NJ, Philadelphia, DC, and Pittsburgh – with frequent travel to Massachusetts)
The App Drivers Union is looking for a responsible and dedicated Data and Operations Analyst for the union’s efforts in organizing the first union for App Drivers and gig workers in the United States and is a joint project between SEIU Local 32BJ and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Management of the Action Network and Action Builder platforms:
- Training and support of union staff in use of these systems
- Support of ancillary systems such as Postgres (SQL database), Power BI dashboards and reporting, Scale to Win (p2p texting tool), and other tools that the union data touches to support its goals.
- Updating customized templates for managing deadlines and customized processes for different business needs.
- Discover and prioritize operational and strategic needs related to the organizing databases and communications platforms.
- Assisting in the development of custom forms, workflows, documentation, and calendar to support the goals of the campaign
- Assisting in developing, launching, and monitoring a ticketing system to help respond to the data needs of all staff in the union
- Managing the development, deployment and debugging of Action Builder and Action Network solutions
Reporting:
- Providing support for customized reporting out of SQL and Excel
- Development of dashboards and regular reporting pieces in the unions Business Intelligence tools
- Interpret and analyze data to discover and prioritize reporting needs related to the union’s goals.
- Development and management of a system that automatically send reports to stakeholders on a schedule
Qualifications
- Two to three years relevant analysis experience (4+ for Senior Analyst consideration)
- Experience identifying opportunities for data collection and analysis that informs decision-makers
- Ability to present analysis to staff, including effective oral, written and visual presentation skills
- Training experience, including the ability to train staff with a wide variety of technical backgrounds
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to details
- Ability to travel and work extended hours, as needed
- Dynamic problem solver in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Significant interest or prior experience in the labor movement and commitment to social justice is a definite plus
- Previous experience in a campaign environment is a plus
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
Technical Requirements
- Experience querying and reporting in SQL
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including excel, and other spreadsheet software
- Experience generating reports
- Experience with Qlik, Power BI, Tableau or other BI reporting tools
- Experience with Python, R, or JavaScript a plus
- Experience with Postgres, Action Builder and/or Action Network a plus
- Experience building API calls for digital tools a plus
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this full-time role is $65,000 to $80 000, depending on experience.
