Website Administrator

Based in Washington, DC

 

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association, AFL-CIO ("NATCA"), the labor union representing federal-sector and private-sector air traffic controllers and other aviation safety professionals, is currently seeking to fill the position of Website Administrator at the union’s headquarters in Washington, DC. 

The Website Administrator executes digital media strategies and tactics on NATCA’s websites. This professional coordinates with NATCA colleagues to post updated information and content and coordinates in the development of additional content. In addition, they produce graphic and video content for use on the website that enhances the Union’s work and image. The Website Administrator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining NATCA’s websites, web hosting, domains, online forms and plugins and is also responsible for identifying problems and recommending fixes. The incumbent must stay current with the quickly evolving web and digital universe including website best practices related to security, USX, CMS technologies, SEO, and other technologies. The Website Administrator also tracks and reports metrics and analytics for NATCA’s web content.

Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (preferably a major in Digital Media, Interaction Design, or a related degree); three years of professional web/digital communications experience, ideally in a WordPress site environment; a solid understanding of UX best practices, web security requirements, and search engine optimization; web/digital project management experience; working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, MySQL, and JavaScript; proficiency with W3C web standards, WAI, ADA and Sections 508 and 504 compliance; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud; and an understanding of how to track, measure and report web metrics.

The salary range for this position is $61,068 to $109,922 depending on experience.
