We are hiring a smart, motivated Lead/Sr Field Rep/Organizer who will take a leadership role in supporting workers in developing and running disciplined and inspiring campaigns that build organization and win material gains.

Position Overview
The purpose of the position of Lead/Sr. Field Rep/Organizer is to support elected leaders, build leadership, and organize members to build power in their workplaces and communities in order to advance the interests of our members and the broader working class. Lead/Sr. Field Rep/Organizers support workers where they are, including worksite visits, home visits, and evening and weekend meetings, visits and phone calls - this unique role allows for flexibility for organizers to build their own schedule around workers’ needs as well as their own. The initial assignment will be based in the Rutland/Middlebury area in Vermont.

We are looking for a team member who has:

  • Experience as a union organizer (internal or external) or a union member/leader required
  • Experience as the staff lead at the bargaining table required
  • The ability to lead and train colleagues
  • A history of taking initiative
  • A class-based analysis, an understanding of power and how racism, sexism, heterosexism, ableism and other forms of oppression divide workers from their collective power.
  • The ability to work independently, solve problems, manage time and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, take direction & support elected union leaders
  • Strong listening, speaking and written communication skills
  • The ability to learn our database and communication tools
  • An automobile and valid driver’s license (required)
  • Experience working in healthcare and/or higher education a plus

Salary & Benefits
This position is covered by a union contract. Per the contract, the salary range for this position will be $69,587 – $89,671 depending on experience.
