Membership Coordinator

Job Title: Membership Coordinator
Reports To: Administrative Assistant to the Secretary-Treasurer
Job Purpose:
The Membership Coordinator is primarily responsible for maintaining the NRLCA membership database; this includes data entry, scanning membership records into the database, updating addresses, name changes, and membership status changes, etc. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Receives and processes new membership enrollments. This will include mailing membership dues withholding forms to USPS for implementation, monitoring their progress until final USPS implementation, issuing ID cards, receiving and processing checks for cash memberships.
- Processes cancellation/termination of memberships. Maintains contact with USPS personnel to facilitate these processes.
- Updates all membership records and files making sure database is always current.
- On a monthly basis, research various membership reports for dues issues for problem resolution.
- As necessary, respond to incoming correspondence, telephone and/or e-mail inquiries from State Secretaries, members, other postal unions, USPS, and others concerning membership matters.
- On a weekly basis, mail to State Secretaries/Treasurers, any reports, receipts, information, etc. that pertains to them.
- Must learn and become thoroughly familiar with the eligibility requirements for NRLCA membership.
- In coordination with the NRLCA Insurance Department, solicit membership from non-members who enroll in any of the NRLCA sponsored insurance plans. This involves sending certified letters to the non-member enrollees and following up to make sure they become members or to cancel their coverage if they don’t.
- Invoicing/collection/processing dues for members on Workers' Compensation.
- Assist other staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to type at least 55 wpm.
- Must possess ability to appropriately prioritize and perform duties without requiring supervisory intervention.
- Must be reliable, professional and responsible.
- Must be able to perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize, cooperate well with others.
- Database experience is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required.
- Strong data entry experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits: 
Starting salary is $57,138 with annual and bi-annual increases according to salary scale. This position is a full-time (40-hour work week) non-exempt position; 100% in the office, Monday – Friday.
