Job Title: Seafarer Campaign Coordinator
Location: Hybrid remote work with Home office at any PWC Office location (Historic Filipinotown, Panorama City, Vista or Chula Vista) and available for out of state travel.
Job Type: Temporary Part-Time (~20 hours/week) for 6-12 months and Exempt

Supervises: No
Compensation: $35,016.80 annually (.5 FTE)
Position Overview
The Campaign Coordinator will lead and coordinate a national, multi-stakeholder campaign to stop the deportation of seafarers and defend their rights to safety, fair treatment, and dignity. The Coordinator will serve as the hub of campaign activities, building coalitions, managing advocacy strategies, amplifying seafarers’ voices, and mobilizing public and political support nationwide.
This role requires a strategic thinker, skilled communicator, and experienced organizer who can manage multiple priorities and engage diverse audiences, including policymakers, unions, faith leaders, immigrant rights organizations, and directly impacted seafarers and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Planning & Management
- Support the development and implementation of a national campaign strategy to stop seafarer deportations.
- Manage campaign calendars, priorities, deadlines, and deliverables across regions.
- Track legislative, policy, and legal developments related to immigration and labor rights.
- Track campaign performance and prepare reports, briefings, and updates for campaign leadership, partners, and funders.
- Coordination with Philippine-based non-profit organizational partners.
Advocacy & Policy Engagement
- Coordinate lobbying efforts at federal and state levels, including meetings with legislators, agencies, and staff.
- Develop policy briefs, talking points, and advocacy materials.
- Monitor relevant legislation and provide rapid response strategies.
- Build strong relationships with elected officials, allies, and government stakeholders.
Coalition & Stakeholder Engagement
- Convene and support a coalition of unions, advocacy organizations, immigrant rights groups, and legal partners.
- Facilitate regular coalition calls, strategy sessions, and joint actions.
- Ensure impacted seafarers and families are centered in campaign decision-making and storytelling.
- Cultivate relationships with faith, labor, and civil society organizations to broaden campaign reach.
Communications & Outreach
- Lead public education and narrative campaigns to shift public opinion on seafarer deportations.
- Draft and distribute campaign materials, press releases, and digital content.
- Coordinate with communications staff to maintain a consistent campaign message.
- Coordinate press events, digital actions, rallies, and storytelling campaigns featuring seafarers.
- Build relationships with media outlets, partners, and community stakeholders.
Volunteer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Recruit, train, and support campaign volunteers and interns.
- Facilitate campaign events, rallies, or public meetings.
- Cultivate partnerships with community organizations, coalitions, and allies.
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain campaign records, databases, and contact lists.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and reporting requirements (e.g., lobbying, election law, donor regulations).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years’ experience in advocacy, campaigns, or organizing (immigrant rights, labor, or human rights preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to manage national coalitions or multi-stakeholder advocacy efforts.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and media engagement.
- Deep commitment to immigrant justice, labor rights, and human dignity.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of immigration policy, deportation defense, or maritime labor rights.
- Familiarity with political, nonprofit, or issue-based campaigns.
- Multilingual skills and/or experience working in diverse communities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Willingness to travel within the U.S. for outreach, events, and meetings.
