About Private Equity Stakeholder Project
The Private Equity Stakeholder Project (PESP) is a nonprofit watchdog organization focused on the growing private equity and broader private funds industry. PESP was founded in 2017 to address the growing impacts of private equity and private funds managers on people and the planet, and to serve as a resource to communities, individuals, and organizations grappling with such impacts. We focus on five key areas affected by private equity: climate and energy, workers & jobs, housing, healthcare, and detention & surveillance.

About the Role
The Senior Healthcare Research/Campaign Coordinator plays a key role in advancing accountability and transparency across healthcare-related private equity and private asset management. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team to design and execute research and campaign strategies that influence investors, policymakers, media, and movement partners. Depending on organizational needs, your focus may lean more heavily toward research, campaigns, or a combination of both.

This role is ideal for a seasoned researcher and strategist who enjoys turning complex financial and corporate data into compelling research, clear narratives, and actionable campaign strategies. Most importantly, this is a role for someone who wants their work to contribute directly to real-world change in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities
Execute and shape research & campaign strategy

  • With support from the team director, lead implementation of research projects and/or campaigns, including coordinating other staff contributions.
  • Contribute actively to planning and implementation of research and campaign strategies focused on private asset managers and healthcare-related investments.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of private equity investments focused on Healthcare, including staying up to date on trends, biggest actors, etc.

Produce high-quality research and public-facing materials

  • Conduct research, manage and analyze data, and produce polished, well-documented reports, blogs, and other materials for stakeholder audiences including institutional investors, grassroots organizations, and the media.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of research methods and sources from start to end of project.

Collaborate across teams and with external partners

  • Work with the PESP communications team to develop plans related to public materials and/or events, including working with designers, assisting with press releases, identifying reporters and relevant stakeholders, and developing talking points.
  • Collaborate with the policy team to research policy and regulatory opportunities and identify potential policy interventions.
  • Build strong relationships with partner organizations, supporting campaigns and/or collaborating on research.
  • Communicate with media related to research, policy and other areas of expertise.

Engage investors and advance accountability

  • In coordination with the investor engagement team, engage institutional investors around investment policies and practices through emails, public comments, and/or face-to-face meetings, including supporting investor engagement around reports and acting as a point person with particular investors.

Contribute to organizational success

  • The Senior Healthcare Research/Campaign Coordinator may lead other staff.
  • Collaborate with other leads and directors to support organizational goals.
  • Contribute to effectiveness of overall organization through collaboration with other team members, organizational strategy development, supporting internal operations

Experience & Skills

  • At least six years of strategic research and/or campaign experience.
  • Experience in a comparable position, which includes campaign strategy development and implementation, partnership development, and/or working with the media, political leaders.
  • Strong knowledge of financial advocacy within the context of labor, environmental, housing justice, racial justice or similar movements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with your team.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with large datasets, including using Excel or other programming skills (e.g. Python, R) for data cleaning and analysis
  • Knowledge of or experience in using web scraping for data collection
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry
  • Experience doing corporate research
  • Significant writing experience in advocacy, policy, and/or research

Compensation
Salary for this position is $97,344 per year plus excellent benefits that include medical, dental, and vision coverage, and a retirement savings 401 (k) plan.
