As a movement operations organization, we believe in building thoughtful systems that support a people-powered movement. We provide consolidated operations and back office support to partner organizations, increasing their ability to build power and fight for justice in working-class communities of color.
Resilient Strategies partners with key grassroots organizations led by working class people of color. Current RS Network Partner Organizations include: Seed the Vote, San Francisco Rising, the Chinese Progressive Association, Trabajadores Unidos - Workers United, Black Futures Lab, Seeding Change, Bay Resistance, AAPIs for Civic Empowerment, and Black to the Future.
Position Overview
The Movement Technology Solutions Specialist is a product engineer who can do hands-on work and has strong communication skills. They are a key contributor to the development, maintenance, and strategic growth of our movement technology infrastructure. The Solutions Specialist reports directly to the Movement Technology Director. The Solutions Specialist will be both a builder and an organizer - comfortable designing systems, writing code, and closely coordinating with organizing staff in alignment with our mission and values. This role requires a strong technical leader with the vision to develop robust, sustainable systems and the versatility to support the wide range of technology needs across the Resilient Strategies Network.
Responsibilities

- Product Ownership:
- Lead conversations with internal and external partners to anticipate technology needs
- Steward the use of technology as a shared resource across our network
- Technical Implementation:
- Design, implement, and maintain creative technology solutions to existing systems and processes
- Research and configure managed software for our networks partners e.g. CRMs
- Set and maintain best practices for engineering quality and documentation standards
- Partner Collaboration:
- Train members and staff in easy-to-understand ways, with an understanding of the network’s political and cultural context
- Champion the political nature of technology in our movement work; advance the capacity of staff to engage with technology as a political tool
- Additional responsibilities and shared responsibilities:
- Participate in staff activities for planning and evaluation as needed
- Support other campaigns, programs and organization-wide activities as needed
- Seek to develop and expand own view of movement technology and technology
Required Qualifications:
- Commitment to social, economic and environmental justice, and bottom-up social change

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders in the course of the work.
- Experience with most of the following:
- CRMs, Airtable, or other managed database tools
- Professional or personal experience in software, web, and application development
- Open source technologies
- Version control systems and working collaboratively with other technologists
- Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS or other development languages
- Wordpress website development
- Security best practices and data privacy standards
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- Able to work on a computer including sitting at a desk for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
- Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard
- Able to see or read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
- Able to speak clearly and in audible tones on the phone and in-person and be understood by other
- Able to hear and understand speech, including on the phone
- Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Employment Terms
This position is 40 hours per week. This position is open to part time candidates. This position has an estimated salary range of $75,000 – $90,000/year. This position is non-exempt. This is a hybrid position. Remote candidates will be considered with required travel to the SF/Oakland Bay Area 4 - 6 times/year.
