Organizing Apprentice

Are you passionate about education justice? Are you interested in learning more about unions for teachers and other educators? Have you worked (or are currently working) in K-12 education, or considering it?
Applications are now open for the Boston Teachers Union Organizing Apprenticeship. This year’s cohort will start in May. We are currently taking applications for cohorts starting this year and next year.
This is a two-year program, designed to teach you organizing skills from the ground up. You will learn to organize people to stand up for their rights and support campaigns that center low-income students and families.
Experience working with children/youth is strongly preferred, in an urban setting is a plus. A BA is helpful but not necessary. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus. Formal organizing experience is not needed.
You must have the ability to work in the Boston area starting in July. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed. Work from the initial May-July could be remote.
