Membership Dues Clerk / Administrative Assistant

OPEIU 29 is seeking a Membership Dues Clerk/Administrative Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Posting of all dues: individual, DCO
- Collections: invoicing
- Assist with generating reports for Per Capita
- Delinquent/Suspension/Dues Letters
- Answer Phone Calls/Return Calls
- Process Withdrawal Cards
- New member application processing
- Mailing new member packets
- Collect dates for LOA/disability
- Maintain membership data
- Process refunds (monthly, quarterly)
- Review member lists and input adjustments to data system
- Complete multiple responsibilities daily
- Written and verbal communications with members, staff and employers
- Answering incoming telephone calls and retrieving daily messages related to union dues
- Generate necessary monthly reports as required by the President/Business Manager & Secretary Treasurer
- Review & prepare spreadsheets
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements include:
- Experience with posting dues/dco’s, collections, billing correspondence, membership maintenance, processing monthly reports. Must have experience with Access, Excel, Word; and proven ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Strong effective written and verbal skills, ability to manage and prioritize workload, and work independently. Listen and get clarification; respond well to questions; participate in meetings. And be able to approach others in a tactful manner; react well under pressure
- problem Solving skills to be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Ability to exercise judgment to solve problems on a case by case situation. Positive, figure-it-out attitude.
- Organizational Support to be able to follow policies and procedures, complete administrative tasks correctly and timely.
- Ability to use good judgment on case by case situation; include appropriate people in decision-making process.
- Accountability: Follow instructions; respond to management direction; take responsibility for own actions; complete tasks on time or notify appropriate person with an alternate plan.
Compensation and Benefits: Hourly compensation per collective bargaining agreement $26.00 per hour, benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, and two (2) pensions.
