SUMMARY: Will perform duties of Audit Clerk classification under direct supervision and to pre-determined or established procedures. Training will be provided where required. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other clerical duties may be assigned. 

  • Responsible for auditing, checking and reconciling Local Union per capita tax reports, including the resolution of errors, as well as all associated membership transactions and reports either sent to or received from the Local Unions. This does not include Accounting journals and ledgers, generally processed or prepared by the Accounting Department, but the postings are to subsidiary ledgers of the Accounting Department. 
  • Provide assistance to Local Union Secretary-Treasurer’s and Local Union office staff which can include educating on pct reporting procedures as related to International and Local Union Constitutional Provisions. 
  • Classifying, indexing, recording and preparing correspondence, reports, memos, and other records for scanning. 
  • Handling of incoming and outgoing mail which may include a variety of records, reports, correspondence, etc. 
  • Record maintenance, including posting involving several kinds of entries, in order to maintain files and records with established procedures. 
  • Typing for both data entry and word processing. 
  • Searching files and assembling data upon request. 
  • Sorting, arranging and filing a variety of records, reports, correspondence, etc. 
  • Operation of other routine office equipment such as adding machines, copy equipment and computer software applicable to the related pct auditing procedures. 
  • Required to perform as relief telephone operator.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum typing skill of 40 words per minute: should possess general mathematical skills.
