Assistant Legislative Director (Manufacturing Policy)
Legislative Department

Based in Washington, DC

The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) is a 400,000-member-strong, progressive, fighting union with one of the largest and most diverse memberships in North America. Our members are employed in a range of workplaces, from multinational corporations to small manufacturers, state and local governments, colleges and universities, hospitals, and private non-profit organizations.

UAW has the unique opportunity to lead the labor movement by putting forward a social vision that can unite working class communities across the country, bring our bargaining demands to the halls of power, and advance transformative legislation. Building on our historic wins in the 2023 Stand Up Strike, and ahead of our next Big 3 contract fight on May 1, 2028, that vision will include a roadmap for the future of the auto industry and other core UAW manufacturing sectors – one that can rebuild the American Dream and lift up workers around the world.
